Sprint Swim and Distance Swim Training Programs
Beginning this spring 2008, Dallas Aquatic Masters is adding two new training opportunities to the weekly calendar.
For those of you who have decided to take on the challenge of a triathlon, an open water swim or train for an upcoming swim meet, we will offer a sprint and distance training program.
Sprint Swim Training - this program will begin Tuesday, February 5th at St. Mark's at 6:30pm.
Practices will be held at St. Mark's through Tuesday,
March 11 from 6:30-7:30pm. From Tuesday, March 18 through
September 28, 2008 practices will be held at the SMU
outdoor pool. Fast
swimming with long rest is beneficial to swimmers no
matter what distance you are preparing for. Adding a
day or two of sprint swimming to your
swim program will greatly help you improve your over
all swimming, plus it's just fun. For those of you planning
on competing in any meet
this spring or summer, these practices are a must! During
these practices we will focus on starts, turns and stroke
technique. The sprint sessions
will be coached by DAM Head Coach Bobby Patten.
Distance Swim Training - this program will begin Tuesday, March 18 at SMU Outdoor pool at 6:30pm.
The distance training practices will be offered Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays through September 28, 2008 and will be led by DAM Head Coach and Co-founder Jim Montgomery.
Two free trial distance practices will be held on Thursday March 6 and Thursday March 13 at 6:30pm at the SMU Outdoor pool. These practices are open to anyone to come out and try a swim practice with DAM!
All practices are open to any active DAM members and
are included in the regular monthly membership dues. A
free week of practices is available for non-members
to try out the program.
